Compared to the smallest gas-powered Volvo, the XC40, the EX30 is about ten inches shorter, but the wheelbase is only shorter by a couple of inches. Pushing the wheels out to the corners like this makes for better maneuverability and more interior space, and it is only possible because of the electric drivetrain. So, while there is still more space in the XC40, the difference is much less than you would expect.

Believe it or not, the EX30 has more front legroom than the full-size EX90 flagship model, a full inch more. It also has unusually generous headroom, making the front seat perfectly comfortable for even the especially tall. The back seat isn’t quite as big as you would expect in a subcompact, but it’s far bigger than the external dimensions would suggest.
