What’s New for 2026

The options for the XC40 have expanded greatly for 2026. For starters, the B4 FWD drivetrain is once again available, and brings with it a lower starting price for the XC40. There is also a new Black Edition available for the Ultra trim, which brings with it a full complement of black aesthetics, both inside and out. For the Core trim, adaptive cruise control and front park assist are now standard.

Capable Practicality

The XC40 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is mated to a mild hybrid system for better performance and fuel efficiency. The system produces 194 horsepower and 221 lb-fdt of torque in the standard B4 FWD drivetrain, or 247 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque in the available B5 AWD drivetrain, sending it through an advanced 8-speed Geartronic™ transmission. This is part of the reason why the 3,500-pound towing capacity is also noticeably much higher than competing compact SUVs. There’s quite a bit of cargo space inside the XC40 as well, 16 cubic feet with the back seats in place, or a massive 57.5 cubic feet with the back seats folded down. To help with loading and unloading cargo, a power tailgate comes standard, with remote operation via buttons on the dash, remote, or tailgate itself.

One of the major qualities that separates Vovlo from other luxury brands is the Swedish automaker’s approach to design and luxury. The XC40 boasts a clean design that allows the quality of the materials and engineering to shine through.
